Conquer the summit of Nevado de Toluca

Conquer the summit of Nevado de Toluca, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Mexico. In this adventure, we will climb to the edge of the crater to see the Sun and Moon lagoons, which are the highest lagoons of their kind in the world. Then, we will venture into the crater and begin the ascent towards Pico del Fraile, the highest point of this impressive volcano. After enjoying the best panoramic view of the journey, we will descend to circle the Sun lagoon and return to the starting point.

This journey is a challenge you can't miss, as it is filled with magnificent views and the satisfaction of reaching the summit of one of the highest volcanoes in Mexico.

Recommendations

Prior to the excursion

• Drink plenty of water the day before
• Eat carbohydrates for dinner
• Arrive well-rested
• Avoid alcoholic beverages 24 hours before
• Have a good breakfast on the day of the excursion (light food for the stomach)

For the excursion

• Hiking boots (previously worn, with a large tread pattern)
• Thick long socks, preferably wool
• Comfortable and warm walking pants
• Nylon or synthetic fiber shirt
• Thick jacket
• Raincoat
• Warm hat
• Sunscreen, at least SPF 30
• Sunglasses with UV protection
• Gloves

For the return

• Towel
• Complete change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks)
• Sneakers or sandals
• Sweatshirt or jacket

Location: Corner of Av. Vicente Suárez and Av. Michoacán, in front of the Michoacán market, Condesa neighborhood, Mexico City. At 7 am.
