Recommendations
Before the excursion:
- Drink plenty of water the day before
- Eat carbohydrates for dinner
- Arrive well-rested
- Avoid alcoholic beverages 24 hours before
- Eat a good breakfast on the day of the excursion (light foods)
For the excursion:
- Clothing is divided into three layers:
- The first layer is close to the body to help retain heat
- The second layer is thicker to reduce heat loss
- The third layer insulates from the environment to prevent heat loss
- 1st layer: cold-weather underwear, preferably synthetic or wool fibers (not cotton)
- 2nd layer: wool, polar tech, or equivalents (not cotton)
- 3rd layer: Gore-Tex, plastic fibers (protection against rain and wind)
- Semi-rigid, waterproof boots for below 0º temperatures, previously worn
- Gloves
- UV protection sunglasses
- Sunscreen (at least SPF 30)
- Wool hat or synthetic fiber bandana
- Sleeping bag for below 0º temperatures (if unavailable, bring a regular sleeping bag and blankets)
- Insulating mat for under the sleeping bag
- Change of clothes
- 35-45 liter attack backpack
- Personal hygiene kit
- Towel

Itinerary
- Day one: Acclimatization hike to the third nest and fall practice for self-arrest.
- Day two: Start hiking from the Refugio de Piedra Negra, ascending through the nest area to reach the labyrinth. After crossing the labyrinth, we will arrive at the glacier, where we will gear up with safety equipment to ascend the glacier to the summit.

Location: Corner of Av. Vicente Suárez and Av. Michoacán, in front of Mercado Michoacán, Colonia Condesa, Mexico City.
Time: 7 am.
